Following the end of the first NAVYBOOT Shoe-Swap Days after a 12-day running period in April, the last few weeks have been spent collecting, sorting and counting.

The campaign far exceeded expectations! Of the 1663 pairs of shoes collected in total, more than a quarter were fit to be distributed among the Swiss mountain population. In terms of numbers, that is 450 pairs of shoes that meet the high quality requirements.

This campaign was conducted together with Tell-Tex GmbH, an organisation which collects clothing on behalf of Schweizer Berghilfe as well as other aid organisations, and which also oversees the “Berghilf-Päckli” campaign. The foundation provides new or almost-new clothing to families and individuals from Switzerland’s mountain regions, at no charge. “In this way, the shoes are given a second lease of life,” states Regula Straub, Managing Director of the Schweizer Berghilfe foundation. “We are extremely pleased with the valuable contribution made by NAVYBOOT customers.”

Shoes which are no longer suitable for wear are recycled through SOEX GmbH, the world leader in shoe recycling, so that these can also be put to good use. At SOEX GmbH, environmental responsibility and people’s quality of life come first.

The entire team at NAVYBOOT, Tell-Tex GmbH and Schweizer Berghilfe wish to say a big thank you to all NAVYBOOT customers for their extensive and enthusiastic support!

Now that summer is on its way, you can look forward to casual, comfortable shoes that are the right choice for the office, but just as suitable for after hours: the Bologna Collection from NAVYBOOT.

The word “Bologna” here refers to a method of shoe manufacturing that was developed in the Italian city of Bologna in the 1950s and that makes the shoe so incredibly flexible and comfortable. With this method, the lining is laid throughout the whole shoe and sewn to the sole.
